Afghanistan 4

Bumped from flight.  Bummer.  Kuwait continues to live up to its name.  There are over 50 of us trying to get to Bagram.  We are talking about the United States Air Force.  They own a few airplanes!  One wonders why they don't just schedule one!

Apparently a flight to Bagram went out a few nights ago- plenty of seats, but no room for bags, so it flew virtually empty.  I guess we know where we stand in the priority- equipment over people!!!

A bit frustrating just to not even know.  We're living out of duffle bags and unsure how much to settle in.  There are role calls twice a day, and you just have to show up, wait and hope.  They don't get the flight schedule until 24 hours in advance, so, 2030 we'll find out if there's a flight tomorrow,  (which I doubt).

I've coordinated with the chaplain here at Ali Al Salem and trying to get a ride with him tomorrow to Camp Buehring, which is, I believe, a bit north of here.  I could have a face-to-face visit with the chaplain who arrives in April to work for me full-time at Moffett Field; spoke to him on the phone today.

Trying to make the best of it and go with the flow.  A few of the folks I'm traveling with are bound and determined to continue to live out of the APOD.  Personally, I'm getting my hair trimmed, going to the gym, SHOWERING, and laying claim to a cot in a tent.

Got a photo with the Australian Chaplain, and had a U.S. chaplain take a photo with me.
